What should be paid attention to when exporting injection mold polishing?

The mechanical polishing of export injection molds is a very meticulous manual work, so the technology of export injection mold polishing is still the main reason that affects the quality of mold polishing. In addition, it is also related to the export injection mold material, the surface condition before polishing and the heat treatment process. High-quality die steel is a prerequisite for obtaining good polishing quality. If the surface hardness of the die steel is uneven or its properties are different, various inclusions and pores in the die steel are not conducive to polishing, even if an experienced master polishes it. The effect is also not good.

The effect of different hardness of export injection mold steel is different. Although the hardness of the mold steel is high, the grinding difficulty increases and the polishing time consumption is large, but the roughness will be reduced after polishing, and the polishing effect will be better. At the same time, the hardness increases and the likelihood of surface differences caused by overpolishing decreases accordingly.

The pre-processing process of the export injection mold also has a certain impact on polishing. In the process of cutting mold steel, the surface layer will be damaged by factors such as heat and internal stress. It is necessary to ensure that the speed and feed rate are relatively uniform during cutting. Affects the polishing effect of the export mold. The EDM surface is more difficult to polish than the surface processed by ordinary machining or heat treatment, so EDM should be carried out before the EDM is completed, otherwise a hardened layer will be formed. If the selection standard is not appropriate, the depth of the burning hardened layer can reach 0.4mm. The hardness of the hardened layer is higher than that of the steel body, and it should be removed as much as possible to lay a good foundation for subsequent polishing.
